ELK CITY, Okla. (June 3, 2024) Making the return to western Oklahoma’s Elk City Motorsports Park this week, the ASCS Sooner Region will roll in for a double at the three-eighths-mile oval on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8.
Brought back from extinction, the track was reopened in 2022 after being shuttered in 2019. No stranger to Sprint Cars, the track features a near-weekly lineup of RaceSaver Sprint Cars. $2,000 to win, $300 to start each night in Elk City this weekend, the tour’s history began last season with Jace Park picking up his first career victory to become the 73rd different winner with the ASCS Sooner Region.
Rounds three and four on the 2024 lineup, the points going into the weekend show multi-time series champion, Sean McClelland, on top over Kyle Clark with Alex Sewell giving chase. Brady Baker and Robert Vetter make up the top five. With the National Tour off this weekend in preparation for Speedweek, there is no telling who may drop in for some testing.
Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8 at Elk City Motorsports Park open at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (CDT). Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, military, and youth (9-15), and free for kids eight and under. Other classes include Sooner Challenge Limited Modifieds, ECMP Factory Stocks, and USRA Gateway Church Tuners. Elk City Motorsports Park is located at 5612 W 20th St. in Elk City, Okla. Information on the track is posted on their Facebook page or by calling (580) 514-3267.
Cody Cordell is the Competition Director for the ASCS National Tour, as well as the Director for the Sooner Region. Teams and Tracks can contact Cody at (918) 407-1879 or Ccordell@dirtcar.com.
