Crockett Aiming to Continue Success at Devil’s Bowl During This Weekend’s Season Opener

Inside Line Promotions – BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (March 16, 2021) – Roger Crockett is riding the momentum from a career-best season on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour into the 2021 campaign.

Crockett kicks off the season this Friday and Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, which hosts the 48th annual Spring Nationals. Crockett won the season finale last year at Devil’s Bowl Speedway to extend his winning streak to 25 straight seasons.

“We’re super excited, especially going to a race track where we finished the year off with a win last season,” he said. “We’re going back with a fresh engine and the same car that we finished last year with. We’re excited to finally be going racing.”

Crockett’s victory at Devil’s Bowl Speedway last year marked his second straight season with a triumph at the track. It was also his 10th career ASCS National Tour victory. The win secured a career-best runner-up result in the ASCS National Tour championship standings.

“We’re looking to continue our upswing and come out on top of the point standings this year,” Crockett said. “Our goal is to win at least 10 races.

“We got a lot better at taking notes. I’ve never been good at keeping notes and having a setup book. Where I grew up racing with the same 10 or 12 tracks all the time we did the same thing everywhere we went. Last year we focused on keeping track of our notes and that’s been a huge help. It simplifies what to do to your race car under different track conditions.”

Crockett has good notes at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, where he’s been stout the last couple of years. He has produced three wins, a second-place finish and a sixth-place outing during his last seven races at the half-mile oval.
