Price Kicking Off Sophomore Season on ASCS National Tour This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – COBBLE HILL, B.C., Canada (Feb. 26, 2020) – Robbie Price starts his second season as a full-time Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour driver this Friday and Saturday with a pair of nights at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz.
“It feels great to finally be getting back behind the wheel after what seemed like a long offseason,” he said. “But I feel like it was a productive offseason and we feel confident about what we have and we’re ready to show it on the track.”
Coming off a rookie season where the Cobble Hill, B.C., native captured two checkered flags and finished eighth in the championship standings, Price is looking forward to shaking the rookie designation and being a contender right out the gate.
“This is Year Two and we can’t lean on the excuse of being a rookie anymore,” he said. “I think we found a good baseline toward the end of the year and we obviously proved we can win. This year is about consistency and taking things to the next level.”
While it will be his second season traveling with the ASCS National Tour, this weekend will mark his first trip to Canyon Speedway Park. He’s optimistic about the team’s chances at the 3/8-mile dirt oval.
“We’ve seen tracks similar to this one before so I think we’re ready for the challenge,” he said. “Everybody out there is hoping to come out fast and run up front and we’re no different. I see no reason we can’t contend for a win.”
Price is setting high goals for himself for the 2020 race season and would ultimately like to raise his win total and finish in the top five in points. Along with traveling with the ASCS National Tour, he’s also planning to do as much 410ci sprint car racing as the schedule will permit.
Price noted that he believes the track time and experience gained by doing more racing will make him better in the long run.
“We are really going to put a focus on growing our 410 operation and doing more racing if we can,” he said. “If there is a race and it makes sense and doesn’t conflict with the ASCS National Tour we’re going to try and do it. I want to learn as much as possible when I can and where I can. I’m ready as a driver to take that next step in my career and I’m ready for anything 2020 brings us.”
