Inside Line Promotions – ELMA, Wash. (July 4, 2018) – In racing, just like in life, you have to be able to take the good with the bad. Such is the case for sprint car driver Scott Bogucki and his SawBlade.com backed team.
Coming off a couple of weeks of great finishes Bogucki’s luck took a turn for the worse last weekend during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com Fred Brownfield Classic at Grays Harbor Raceway.
On Friday Bogucki didn’t finish his heat race and rallied from 11th to seventh in a B Main, which forced him to take a provisional to compete in the A Main. He pulled off the track early with a 25th-place run.
The weekend wrapped up on Saturday with another frustrating outing as Bogucki finished sixth in a heat race before he tangled with another car while battling for the final transfer spot in a B Main.
“The track was really heavy Saturday and there was no passing,” he said. “I tangled with a car battling for the final transfer spot in the B Main. It was one of those where he caught a rut and it was right front, left rear deals and I ended up in the fence and killed the car. You just have to take the good with the bad and the bad with the good. We are putting the backup together to finish this deal before heading home to Iowa to regroup. We’re ready to get back after it.”
To make matters worse, Bogucki’s tow vehicle suffered mechanical woes while traveling to the next ASCS National Tour event this Friday and Saturday at Gallatin Speedway in Belgrade, Mont., for the Grizzly Nationals.
“We blew the turbo in the middle of nowhere,” he said. “We had no cell service, nothing. Thankfully Blake Hahn towed us to the next exit and we found a diesel repair shop and ordered the turbo and they over-nighted it and we put it on on the side of the highway.”
Bogucki enters this weekend ranked seventh in the ASCS National Tour championship standings.
