Inside Line Promotions – DES MOINES, Iowa (June 7, 2018) – Scott Bogucki is excited to tackle his first Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com Speedweek, which features six races over nine days. It all begins this Friday at West Texas Raceway in Lubbock, Texas.
“I’m really looking forward to Speedweek,” he said. “The more races the better. We have all the parts in place to do well and we have some extra help for the week, which will be a huge relief for me.”
Bogucki said his friend Danny Heskin will join the team along with season-long crew member Dillon Paddock.
“Dillon has really turned into a great crew member,” Bogucki said. “He’s learned a ton and I trust him to do just about everything on the car. Danny has been around and knows what he’s doing so I don’t have to worry about what he works on. Just having a third guy to help with driving, maintenance, etc., makes everything go faster and frees me up to watch the track.”
Of the six tracks on the Speedweek schedule, the ASCS National Tour has only visited one so far this year – Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas. Bogucki recorded a 10th-place finish at the event on March 16.
Bogucki said he has raced during his career at West Texas Raceway in Lubbock, Texas; Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas; Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla.; and Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla. – all tracks on the Speedweek schedule.
“I really like Creek County,” he said. “It’s a little bullring and is a lot of fun. I enjoy Lawton as well and I’m looking forward to Salina (Speedway in Salina, Kan.). I can’t wait to get out west and race. I really like it out there.”
Bogucki says the key to doing well during that many races over a short period of time is “being prepared and being consistent.”
“We have to be very consistent and drive the car back to the trailer every night,” he added. “We can’t fall out of any races like we’ve had happen a few times this year.”
Bogucki also said luck comes into play, especially getting a good pill draw each night.
“I’m not drawing all week,” he quipped. “I’ve sucked at it so the crew is going to do it each night.”
Bogucki currently sits eighth in the ASCS National Tour championship standings during his rookie season on the tour.
