Bryan Hulbert – MECHANICSBURG, Penn. (May 8, 2018) Back in the mid-west following his debut at Williams Grove Speedway and Selinsgrove Speedway with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com, Skylar Gee is geared up for the series next three events.

“I’m ready to get back on some short tracks,” stated Gee. “We been to Lakeside and I-30, but I’m looking forward to my first trip to Humboldt. Having short tracks this week, you know, that’s what I grew up on and I feel like I excel on, but I feel like our big track setup is getting better so I’m excited to go back to Lakeside too.”

Finishing 17th at Williams Grove and 22nd and Selinsgrove, Gee wasn’t pleased with the results, but also accepted it as a learning experience.

“The whole thing was a learning experience. It could have been better, but it could have been much worse. The car actually felt good on Friday. My Heat Race didn’t really show it, then got collected in the Qualifier. Felt good in the feature too, but it was just tough to pass. There are so many good cars out there, it’s tough to run through the field.”

Having to take a provisional Saturday night, Gee took full advantage of the extra laps.

“We got some really good notes on what to do when we go back. We threw some stuff at it just to try it, and it was way better. I feel like if I’d had that car in the B-Main, I could have avoided the provisional.”

Gee’s three-race swing begins this week begins with Humboldt Speedway on Wednesday, May 9, then Lakeside Speedway on Thursday, May 10, and finally I-30 Speedway on Saturday, May 12.
