Price Leaves Central Pennsylvania Debut Grateful for Experience

Inside Line Promotions – SELINSGROVE, Pa. (May 8, 2018) – Robbie Price had an eye-opening experience during his first-ever trip to compete in Central Pennsylvania last weekend.
Price and BDS Motorsports tackled the Battle of the Groves – a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com and United Racing Club doubleheader that started on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg.
Unfortunately, a high pill draw and a lack of passing on the track resulted in Price finishing eighth in a heat race and 11th in a B Main.
The following night went smoother at Selinsgrove Speedway, where Price finished second in a heat race and third in a qualifier to lock himself into the A Main.
“The draw was way better and the track was a little better as far as racing-wise,” he said. “In the heat I didn’t get the jump. I got to the top as soon as I could and we ran second in it. Then in the qualifier I ran second most of the time, but the motor stumbled on a restart and that let a guy get a run on me so I fell to third.”
Price lined up on the inside of the fifth row for the main event.
“The first few laps I couldn’t decide where to run and got shuffled back,” he said. “I didn’t start hustling the car soon enough. At the end of the race I felt comfortable and learned some things.”
Price ended with a 17th-place result.
“It was an experience to say the least,” he said. “It was different, but it was fun. I felt pretty good and we had good speed.”
Price and BDS Motorsports have a trio of ASCS National Tour races on this week’s schedule. Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., hosts a race on Wednesday before Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., has an event on Thursday. The weekend will wrap up on Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark.
“I’m excited to get on some little tracks,” he said. “Growing up racing on the West Coast you don’t run a lot big tracks. I’m looking forward to some bullrings this weekend like I’m used to.”
