Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 26, 2017) – Harli White is excited to return to the ‘Sprint Car Capital of the World’ this Saturday with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour following her season debut at the famed half-mile oval last weekend.
“We went there to test and try things,” she said. “We tried some different things to see how the car would feel and react. The whole plan was to get laps and practice before the big shows coming up.”
White made her Knoxville Raceway season debut by qualifying 26th quickest. She then finished where she started – seventh – in a heat race before advancing from sixth to fifth place in the B Main to miss transferring into the main event by only one position.
“We didn’t time trial well,” she said. “We don’t get to do that very often so we struggle at that. That started us at the back of the heat race and we never could get caught up. It was disappointing to miss making the A Main, but it’s one of the toughest race tracks I’ve run on. We went to get some laps and see how we performed. We have a better idea of where to put the car starting out the next time we race there.”
White will head back to Knoxville Raceway this Saturday to open a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader. The series will then visit Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa, on Sunday.
“It’s all about time trialing,” she said. “We have to qualify good and set ourselves up for a better starting position in the heat race. And I’m excited to make my debut at Mason City on Sunday. New tracks are always fun and help me be a better driver.”
White enters the doubleheader ranked ninth in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings.
