Skylar Gee Ready For First Crack At Lucas Oil ASCS Speedweek
LEDUC, Alberta (June 7, 2017) Gearing up for his first ASCS Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek, Canada’s Skylar Gee will hit the road for seven races in nine days across Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.
“I’m excited. We’re looking forward to it, and feel like it’s a good chance to move up the standings. We’re not that far outside the Top 10, and getting better every time we’ve been out,” said Gee.
Basing his operation out of Forney, Texas with Travis Rilat, the teenager has been able to utilize the former ASCS National Champion for guidance throughout the season, “Travis is awesome. He’s always there and willing to give us tips, plus giving me a place to stay. I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
Along with the help of Travis, and his father Tim Gee, the team has been going over every inch of the car and trailer to insure that the cars are correct and parts where they need to be since the team goes straight from Speedweek to Dirt Cup.
“We’re really looking forward to getting up to Skagit. We’ve had some success there and always enjoy racing there. I feel like we're ready for all of it."
Going into Speedweek, the team is still looking for a crew member and/or crew chief. Inquiries on the position can be made to Skylar Gee Racing at (780) 218-5895 or email skylargee99@hotmail.com.
