Hagar Takes 15-Race Podium Streak into Two-Race Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (July 19, 2016) – Derek Hagar is riding a 15-race podium streak into this weekend.
Hagar has earned seven wins, five runner-up results and three third-place finishes during that stretch since the middle of May.
This weekend will see Hagar competing at a pair of tracks where he has been successful. He will race on Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., before driving for David Korte on Sunday at Double X Speedway in California, Mo., with the ASCS Warrior Region.
“It’s nice to race in home in front of our friends and fans on Saturday,” Hagar said. “We need to go out there and have a strong performance and keep the podium streak alive.”
The streak started with a win at Riverside International Speedway on May 14. Hagar also has finishes of ninth and second this season at the quarter-mile oval.
Hagar placed second and eighth, respectively, at Double X Speedway last year.
“You have to make your moves when the opportunity is there and be smart about it,” he said. “It’s a tight, racy, little track. You don’t want to do something crazy and get yourself knocked out early.
“We’ve been real successful with David. This year we won a non-wing race with him and we were successful with him last year when he and Jack Hockett were teamed up together. We know we can get it done.”
Hagar and Korte have won four non-wing main events, but are searching for their first winged sprint car win together.
