Lucas Oil ASCS Set For Dirt Cup

TULSA, Okla. (June 23, 2015) Set to be one of the biggest Dirt Cup events in Skagit Speedway history, the 44th annual Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup presented by Jack in in the Box takes place June 25-27, 2015.

For the drivers of the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real, it’s a date with history as this weekend’s events at the Skagit Speedway marks the first time ASCS has visited the three-tenths mile oval, and at $15,000 to win on Saturday night, is the highest payday of the season.

Aaron Reutzel leads the charge into Skagit, after reclaiming the points lead with his third Lucas Oil ASCS victory of 2015 at the Salina Speedway this past Friday.

Suffering a crash at Salina, Johnny Herrera currently rides 58 points away from Reutzel. A homecoming for third place, Seth Bergman, the 2014 Skagit Speedway 360 Nationals Champion has already turned laps in the state of Washington in 2015, taking a feature win at the Grays Harbor Raceway on April 25; a nice tune-up for next weekend’s Fred Brownfield Classic.

Riding a podium finish at the Lucas Oil Speedway into this weekend, Wayne Johnson holds fourth in tour standings. Unfortunate, Jeff Swindell will not be in attendance, but will have Robbie Price subbing in the Hammers Racing No. 94 in order to secure the team’s owner points. The British Columbia shoe is no slouch, having scored two wins in 2015 at the Skagit Speedway during the month of April.

Tony Bruce, Jr. currently rides sixth following his win at the Lucas Oil Speedway with Matt Covington, Blake Hahn, Kyle Bellm, and Brandon Hanks completing the top-ten.

Starting Thursday, June 25 each night of racing at the Skagit Speedway will begin at 7:00 P.M. (PT). For more information about the Skagit Speedway, log onto http://www.skagitspeedway.com.
