Looking Ahead: 2015 ASCS Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek

TULSA, Okla. (June 4, 2015) It’s five nights of competition that separate the men, from the boys and it’s back for round 23 with the ASCS Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek and Bob Westphal Memorial Cup.

While there is a break between the Devil’s Bowl and Lawton Speedway, the idea is to give teams time to prep for four straight nights across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. With a mixture of tracks from the Devil’s Bowl at a half-mile, to Creek County Speedway’s quarter-mile, Speedweek is a test of not only a driver’s ability, but that of the crew to maintain and perform.

A simple overview of things to come, information on this year’s Sizzlin Summer Speedweek, and it’s history is as follows:

Track-by-Track Quick Guide:

Saturday, June 13, 2015

Rare that the first visit of the season to the Devil’s Bowl comes in June, but the 2015 season has been anything but normal. In the 2014 edition of the Summer Nationals, Seth Bergman finally notched his name in the pages of history at the famed half-mile. Bergman is also the first son of Washington to win in ASCS competition at the Devil’s Bowl.

The first time the Kansas oval has graced the Speedweek lineup, the addition of the Salina Speedway to the 2015 Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek came as flood level rains forced the promoter to postpone his original May date. With the track being a Friday night facility, and perfectly placed, the decision to join the party was a quick one.
