The Numbers: Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real
Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (September 14, 2013) Every so often, a breakdown of the number surrounding the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real is in order.
The 22nd year of the national arm of the ASCS Nation, 36 dates of the scheduled 41 so far have been contested. Out of those dates, the number by which all seasons are measured is where a driver ranks in the series standings. Right now, the coveted No. 1 is held by Jason Johnson.
Having traded that spot five times with Johnny Herrera, and once with Roger Crockett, Johnson is by no means out the door running. As was witnessed in 2011, a lead of over 100 points can vanish in an instant as Johnny Herrera missed capturing his first $60,000 payday by a merer point to Shane Stewart.
In 2013, ten drivers have competed full time with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real with two of those competing for the Brodix Rookie of the Year.
The rest of the numbers, those are as follows.
