Bio
My name is Tyler Gunn. I am a 22 year old sprint car driver from Napoleon, Ohio. Racing has been a part of my life since age 8 starting with quarter midgets. Being a professional race car driver has always been my dream. My ultimate dream is to become a full-time professional race car driver and racing dirt track sprints is just one way to get me there. The passion, determination and persistence that I have for racing will help me achieve those dreams.
My success early in my career is only the beginning of what I want to accomplish. I know with hard work I have what it takes to be one of the most successful drivers of my time, and I am excited for the journey ahead.
Over the past five years I have dedicated a lot of time toward supporting the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation by taking part in the Kick-It for Childhood Cancer events as well as committing to becoming a Kick- It Champion in 2015. Cancer has had a large impact in my families’ lives which gives me the drive to support such a great cause. No child should have to go through the battles of cancer. This year I am looking forward to participating in the Battle of the Speedway Triathlon at Fremont Speedway.
Aside from being a race car driver I am also an auto mechanic and tow truck driver for our family business. My family is very important to me and I enjoying working with my father and mother at Gunn’s Auto Service and Towing LLC. which started as a Marathon Station in 1963 by my grandfather. Thanks to the business side of my career I understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships with sponsors, coworkers and fans. Fans gravitate to drivers who are reliable, humble and kind. It has been said, I possess these qualities. A driver who takes the time to show their fans their appreciation is valuable to a sponsor. I appreciate my team and fans and strive to be a positive role model.
Lastly, the passion I possess for racing is enormous. I have been around racing my entire life, it’s in my blood and I would never have it any other way.
